The Filipinos dream of going overseas for both work and pleasure. The Commission on Filipinos Overseas reported in 2011 that there were 10.4 million Filipinos in permanent, temporary or irregular status abroad, about 11% of the projected 93.9 million total Philippine populations in the same year.  More and more are trying to get jobs abroad.

With reasons like unstable economic situation, perennial high unemployment rate, low salary offered by local companies, poor benefits, etc.  But no matter what reasons Filipinos are leaving the country for, it is becoming apparent that most of the Filipinos who had the chance to work abroad had better lives and more stable finances.

Not only that, would you not want to experience snow, or live in farm in the down-under,  or  revel on the romantic views of cherry blossoms in springtime?
On a survey done, given a chance, one in every five Filipinos would want to emigrate or visit a foreign country.

A critical hurdle for most Filipinos looking to go abroad, however, is the tedious and sometimes nerve-wracking visa application process.  Not to mention the risks of spending much with every visits to documenting office, which most of the applicants complain about.

Indeed, the challenge of putting together the right documents and properly lodging an application for visa to one’s destination country could easily lead to discouragement and despair.
Global Visas, world leader in immigration and visa consultancy recognized a global need for expertise in this area. It opened its head office in London in 1996 and now has 250 immigration experts worldwide, including 51 in its Cebu operation which started in October 2010.

The Cebu office has facilitated the issuance of about 200 visas of various categories to various countries since its launch.

Global Visas Cebu has won for its clients the most difficult battles as far as visa facilitation is concerned, including that of Maritess Sejas, who successfully reapplied with Global Visas advice after being denied visa issuance several times.

The expertise of the Global Visas team allows it to deliver the best quality service in the lodgment of spousal, fiancée, tourist and working visas. Aida Abarquez was awarded a multiple-entry visa to the USA as a result of a Global Visas – guided application. She is now able to make more visits to her husband who is working there.

For more testimonials check this page out: http://www.globalvisas.com/pages/testimonials.html
The company holds the distinct advantage of having personnel in destination countries as well as constant updating of visa regulations in these areas: the USA, Canada, UK and other parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asian territories.

Tokyo Tokyo Ramen Bar launch

Whenever we crave for a quick japanese fix, we always go to Tokyo Tokyo and satisfy our cravings of california maki, beef misono, tempura, pork tonkatsu and more. And now, I'm happy to share with all of you that Tokyo Tokyo added more reasons for us to give in to our japanese cravings!

A few days ago, I was invited to attend the launching of Tokyo Tokyo Ramen Bar held at their Trinoma branch. Tokyo Tokyo now joined the ramen craze with three flavored ramens to choose from! And it's so perfect for upcoming cold weather!

Loved their pretty japanese umbrella inspired ceiling.

Through its new Ramen Bar, Tokyo Tokyo is doing the same for the ramen craze sweeping the nation, letting all Filipinos get a bowlful of top-quality ramen wherever they want, and at any budget.

My default order whenever we're in Tokyo Tokyo. All in one plate. Yay!!!

I can't believe that this gyoza plate is only php35!

Ramen noodles are freshly-made, giving each mouthful just the right amount of bite. Premium-quality toppings, such as tender pork cutlets, succulent chicken cuts glazed in a spicy-sweet teriyaki sauce, and delightfully crisp prawn tempura, serve as a focal point for other traditional flavors.

Braised Pork.

Spicy Chicken

Tempura Miso

Media people busy with their Ramen and Instagramming, haha!

Gyoza, Ramen’s most familiar pairing, is made according to authentic standards: soft, savory, and chewy with a delightfully crisp underside.

Thanks to the Tokyo Tokyo Ramen Bar, high-quality ramen is no longer limited to specialty shops with a limited number of branches. Even better, customers can get their ramen at a fraction of the cost, compared to other restaurants: just PHP99 for a snack-sized bowl, and PHP150 for a full serving. Pinoys hungry for a bowl of piping-hot goodness will soon be able to choose from 50 locations around the country and enjoy authentic Japanese ramen at wallet-friendly prices.

And of course, none other than Daniel Matsunaga graced the event.

Can you say he's hot as Tokyo Tokyo Ramen? Oh yeah!!! :)))

Bestie of The Capricious Club! It was nice seeing you again, Bestie! :)

Tokyo Tokyo Ramen Bar is located at Trinoma; SM Southmall; Net Lima, The Fort; SM Megamall; People Support Ayala; Greenbelt; Market Market; SM Baguio; SM Fairview; SM North EDSA Annex; and opening soon in July 2013 at SM North EDSA Main, SM San Lazaro, SM Manila, Greenhills, Harbor Point Subic, Robinsons Pioneer, Ali Mall, Festival Mall, SM Dasmarinas, and SM Bicutan.

Visit Tokyo Tokyo Ramen Bar at branches near you. Don't forget to enjoy their ramen with your family and friends!

Thank you so much ARC PR and Tokyo Tokyo for having me! :))

Giordano Denim Now, Denim Forever

We all know that fashion trends come and go, right? But only one thing remains constant: DENIM!

Since it was invented in 1853, the sturdy fabric has been molded into different fits and styles – bellbottom, boot cut, bleached, washed, colored. And unique to the denim is how it flatters every person who wears it, from workers to rock stars, cowboys to celebrities; it’s the ultimate staple apparel. True to its long and rich history, the denim jean is designed to last forever.

In celebration of this classic material, Giordano Philippines launches “Denim Now. Denim Forever”. Can be worn by anybody in any season for almost any occasion, the raw and colored denim offered in the collection is available in different fits and styles.

“Denim Now. Denim Forever” underlines the material’s sturdy yet comfortable characteristic. “Compared with last year’s denim collection, this year’s pieces are different in terms of fabrication, thread and pocket design. The styles now have a higher spandex content, thus allowing more movement for the wearer,” said Ella Santos, Giordano Philippines Denim Category Buyer.

In this collection, Giordano highlights the classic beauty of raw denim. “The dye is expected to fade gradually with continuous washing. This is one of raw denim’s unique characteristics and it must not be considered as an imperfection,” Santos said.

Giordano raw denim jeans come in two kinds of fits and styles: tight tapered and slim tapered for men, slim tapered and skinny straight for women. These pieces are also designed to adjust to the wearer’s shape and size, acquiring a more personal fit.

Colored denim jeans are the ultimate expressions of fun, comfort and style. Similar to Giordano’s legging jeans, the spandex content in these pieces allows wearers to move freely and comfortably. The jeans are available in eight different colors – classic black, washed red, oxblood, mustard, blue turquoise, navy blue, dusty white and dark denim – in skinny tapered for women and tight tapered for men.

Pieces from the Giordano’s “Denim Now. Denim Forever” are available in all Giordano stores nationwide at an affordable price of PhP999, starting August 23 until mid-September.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend Ipanema's Soul Search event held at the new Glorietta 1.  Ipanema's latest styles are fun, colorful, simple yet trendy.

IPANEMA has grown to become well known not only in Brazil but all over the globe giving stylistas footwear that can also be a reflection of one's individuality. Last year, the footwear label invited the stylish elite and the fashion-savvy flock of style onlookers with a majestic celebration dubbed as an Urban Jungle. This year,IPANEMA digs deep and asks the ever-important question, “What fills your soul?

At the event, I was surprised that it was not your usual fashion show. But they had an interpretative dance number wearing Ipanema slippers. Coolio, right? :)

Still marked by IPANEMA’s distinct jovial, fun spirit—embodied in its brave array of footwear designs—the leading footwear brand ups the ante of its style sensibility by foraying into the soul of its demographic of women of passion.

Beyond exuding the festive and exotic vibe of the beaches of Brazil representative of their overall brand aesthetic, IPANEMA ventures into the an even greater dialogue with its consumers leading to a search of one’s soul: highlighting finding one’s Ambition, Hope, Passion, and Happiness, as vivified in the four new suites of IPANEMA’s latest collection showcased in a stylized fashion show called IPANEMA SOUL SEARCHat the Glorietta 2 Activity Center last Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

The bevy of new designs feature a narrative amplifying the new style direction of IPANEMA speaking to its consumer base not just as a fashion staple and accessory but a mirror to her personality—with an unrelenting emotional bond with the woman that she is.

Encompassing diverse tastes and personalities of today’s breadth of stylistas, the whole of the event venue witnessed how IPANEMA boasted its array of newest footwear finds with a healthy mix of neutrals and brights imprinted with patterns that still evoke its quirky flipflop stamp of braving fashion frontiers through footwear.

In a grand visual treat subdivided in the four elements of: Fire, Water, Earth and Air, the stylish lot joined a revelry of sorts, which marks the culmination of the IPANEMA Soul Search Raffle promo. The finale event was enchanting! We were all mesmerized by the amazing music and the powerful and evocative dancing of these people -- while wearing footwear from Ipanema of course!

Fun event is fun when you're with your blogger friends! Say hi to Rache, Kai and Hazel! :)

Here are some of the newest styles from Ipanema:

Tang World Empowers Kids to Save Our World

$

Hello there! I've got good news for you! Tang Philippines has activated its first-ever branded virtual world that allows Filipino kids to embark on various missions that promote social responsibility and awareness through a gamified experience, aiming to inspire them to translate their virtual learnings to real life.

Most children learn best from first-hand experience and practical application. With this online world, Tang offers interactive activities that are fun and educational. We hope that through them, we can empower Filipino kids to be active members of the society, working towards the goal of making a difference,” said Alex Tacderas, category marketing manager for Powedered Beverages of Mondelez Philippines.

The “Tang World,” which now has over 2,800 participants and counting, is a vibrant interactive virtual space where it provides the members of Tang Galing Club—an online community that promotes kid empowerment—a venue to play mini-games, chat with other members, complete missions, and customize their own avatars.

Missions are simple goals and activities that the players may accomplish to get rewards, such as coins and experience points. Missions could range from a simple exploration task, to finding a missing object, to challenging expeditions that would require a player to achieve a high score in a certain mini-game.

For Tang, the “gamification” concept or the use of a platform similar to gaming, teaches kid empowerment in a manner that would be most understandable and interesting to children, since the missions in the various mini-games are centered at inspiring and motivating Filipino children to go and contribute positive change for the betterment of the society.
“But what makes this gamified experience all the more relevant is the fact that we aim to unleash the hero inside every child through the lessons that they will learn from the activities, such as taking care of the environment through recycling,” added Tacderas

Explaining further the mission, Michelle Santillan, Senior Brand Manager for Tang Philippines said, “One example of this is the task that will require the players to collect a certain number of Tang foil packs scattered around the virtual world. Upon completion of the task, the player will be rewarded with regular Tang points and experience points so that they can level up.”

Santillan continued, “After collecting a specified amount of foil packs, a congratulatory display pop-up appears saying ‘Great Job!, the foil you collected was used to build something useful.’ Then visuals of objects that may be made out of recycled foil packs will appear to make the young kids aware of the useful things that can be produced out of recycling.”

But she clarified that before kids can enter this online world, guest players first have to register at www.tanggalingclub.com if they don’t have an existing account yet, guided by their parents.  “They will be asked to enter their preferred username and password, their email, then their parent’s email. Once completed, they can now activate their account through email,” Santillan said. Once inside the game, the player will be prompted with a short tutorial to familiarize themselves with the online world activities,” Santillan added.

This innovative gamified experience is one of the many efforts where Tang aims to push for the concept of “kid empowerment” as promoted by its Tang Galing Club online movement.

Of this, Tacderas said, “Parents know that it is not always easy to make our kids fully understand each and every lesson we are trying to teach them, all the more the idea of ‘kid empowerment.’ But with the missions inside the Tang Online World, we hope to instill among our children through fun and stimulating activities that they can contribute good things to their communities if they start moving and inspiring other kids to do the same.”

Vania Romoff is one of the leading designers of today’s generation which is why it’s no surprise she is this year’s chosen one for Ensembles’ Young Designers Series. Born and raised in a family of designers and fashion-savvy individuals, the 24 year old Cebuana grew up around fashion. Vania’s grandmother was the first couturier in Cebu while her mother is a garment manufacturer and her brother a designer as well. “I would say it’s very much a part of me, more than it is a chosen career or interest.” Vania studied Business Entrepreneurship at the Center for International Education in Cebu but learned and developed her fashion skills at School of Fashionof the Arts. As for her design aesthetic, it’s all about being feminine and classic. “Clean lines, flattering silhouettes and a quiet, yet fresh elegance are consistent in my designs making each piece somehow a modern classic”, Vania said. Her fashion forward yet timeless creations have garnered continuous praise from the eyes of fashion critics and the rest of the industry, making her one of the most sought after designers, especially with female clientele. Establishing herself as a legitimate designer in Manilais considered by Vania as one of her greatest achievements. “The thought that women trust me with creating pieces for them is an achievement in itself.” When asked about where she gets inspiration for designing, Vania pointed out that there is no formula for inspiration. “It is taken from everywhere that evokes personal vision or creativeness”, Vania shared. Among the list of people she admired, she named Inno Sotto and Jun Escario, both renowned Filipino designers, as her icons.
When asked about her collaboration with Ensembles, Vania pointed out that she considered two things. Fisrt, the pieces should be wearable and relatable and second, her designs should stay true to her design aesthetic while still reflecting the brand’s persona. “For my collaboration with Ensembles, I wanted to just go back to the basic silhouettes. All together the collection is fresh yet timeless and lives beyond the season.”

Sofi and I were invited to attend the SM Kids' Fashion Toon Fest Media launch held at SM Megatrade Hall 2. But since it was a school day (friday), Sofi weren't able to go with me. :(

Anyway, I loved how they transformed megatrade hall 2 into City of Fashion with bright lights, aesthetics and famous landmarks. It's like the fashion capital such as London, Paris and New York are rolled into one place. What a treat!

New York inspired stage

Delicious food were served too. Yum!

All time fave characters also graced the event. Say hi to Betty Boop, Robby Rabbit and Garfield.

The beautiful Ms. Sam Oh hosted the event. Her varsity jacket is also from SM Kids' Fashion. Like!!

Stylish and trendy pieces from SM Kids' Fashion are now available at SM Department Stores.

It was nice seeing you all again Krissy, Ava and Charlene with her baby.

And since Sofi can't make it at the media launch, we went the next day. Oh boy, she was so giddy! She was super excited, haha! You can see the evidence from her smile! :))

With the Peanuts gang

Where's your fashion destination? Disney, Snoopy or Garfield?

One of the coolest activity there was the color your own shirt. Since Sofi shopped at Robby Rabbit, we were able to avail their promo. We were given a shirt and colored pens and made her own DIY shirt.

Helped Sofi with coloring, though sya ang namili kung ano ang kulay ng car, bridge, castle, etc.

What do you think of her "masterpiece"? :))

Sofi channeling Betty Boop!

Of course may picture din ako. Haha!

Care for a spin? :)

Thank you so much SM Kids' Fashion, ARC PR for a fun-filled afternoon. Can't wait for another SM Kids' Fashion Toon Fest! Sofi and I had a blast! :))

Head now to SM Kids Fashion and avail their latest fashion for your kiddos! :)

Outfit Diary: Love this Life

on Sofi:
shirt and skirt: SM Kids Fashion
shoes: Hello Kitty

on Me:
top and shorts: Bazaar
belt: SM Accessories
shoes: SM Parisian

I know that it's been a long time since I posted my outfit diary. But I've been taking pics of my outfit every time I go out, so expect a lot of outfit post in the coming days! :))

Anyway, here's what we wore one lazy Saturday afternoon when we went to SM Kids Fashion toon fest. Loved Sofi's statement shirt here from SM Kids Fashion. It reminded me that we should love this life that we have, embrace it and just spread positive vibes. :)

Kwento ko lang.. I've been meaning to bring Sofi to my favorite parlor in qc, but since I keep forgetting whenever we are in qc. D ko sya napapagupitan. Ewan ko ba, ayaw nya kasi magponytail. So kahit sabog sabog na hair nya, pawis pawis,  nakalugay pa din. (any mommy out there who can relate? haha!) So, since she doesn't know how to fix her hair properly,  I decided to chop of Sofi's hair myself. Haha! It's almost the same haircut she had last summer from the parlor, right? (see my old post for Sofi's hairdo last summer). What do you think?  Ansabe ng salon? LOL! I'm glad she loved the result or else lagot ako sa daddy nya, hahaha! ;p

Till my next post! :))
